Combining and compiling useful information from available data, documents, organizational knowledge and business models represent a good basis for building a decision support model which will be used as a supporting tool in the access management process.
For building the decision support model, the Decision EXpert (DEX) model implemented in the DEXi software tool is used. DEX is a qualitative multi-criteria decision analysis method for decision making. All entities attributes are qualitative and their values are represented by words, such as “not appropriate”, "less appropriate", "appropriate" or "excellent", and they are all organized in a hierarchal tree.
